On Wednesday 9th June, 53 weeks after the Wheels for Ralph appeal was launched, Ralph took delivery of his new adapted vehicle. It has been equiped with plug sockets (for his vital medical equipment), hydraulic lift (makes it a lot easier and safer to get Ralph into the vehicle), specialist belt fittings and tinted windows (Ralph can sometimes find too much light uncomfortable).
This would not have been possible without the generosity of many people-those who have donated, supported our fundraising events and given thier time free. It would also not have been possible without the kindness of the company who supplied the vehicle, Lewis Reed. They understood Ralph's immediate need and offered to suply the "shuttle" after a substancial deposit and the opportuity to pay the remaining £12,000 over the next 5 years. We therefor still have fundraising to continue although we shall be havig a short break during the summer, to enjoy taking Ralph out and about with his family during the holidays. |
